We at Art Salon Chinatown are deeply inspired by the urgent movement taking place in our city and across the country to Defend Black Lives, end police brutality, and demand social justice. We are committed to staying engaged in the Movement for Black Lives, promoting anti-racism, and finding ways to help dismantle white supremacy and anti-Blackness.
We are not new to working with underrepresented artists and communities of color. Our personal commitment to prioritize and center artists of color, including Asian, Latinx, and Black, is evident in our more than 50 years of combined professional experience working in more than 14 arts organizations in Los Angeles – many of which focused on serving communities of color.
At Art Salon Chinatown we embrace the fact that the Asian American community holds a vital stake in activating the change this historic movement seeks. We all do. Please join us by getting involved and inviting change. We’ll be sharing ideas and resources to keep the momentum going.
P.S. We miss our Art Salon Chinatown community and look forward to seeing you all soon.
